Financial management

The selected consultant will provide 1:1 support, mentorship, workshops, training sessions, and other capacity building services to three local organizations in Iraq in finance and budget management for USAID programs.

This assignment will take place in Duhok, Iraq.

Period of performance: April 1-June 1, 2023, with possibility of extension

Arabic and English are required.

Scope of work:

  • Advise and assist local organizations with best practices for financial planning, management, and reporting.
  • Review their current financial systems (i.e. manuals, processes, allocation of responsibilities, procedures etc). Determine if those systems are in compliance with donor standards, and make recommendations for organizations to come into compliance. this includes support to select and integrate a cloud-based finance and budget system appropriate for each partner.
  • Advise organizations on how to structure departments and delegate responsibility within their organizations to financially manage awards compliantly.
  • Assist organizations in strengthening capacity of personnel and IT systems in the areas of finance and reporting after identifying a finance platform.
  • Coaching and troubleshooting support, as needed.
