Workforce and Talent Management Consultant - Zimbabwe

Through the USAID Partnerships Incubator, the Consultant will provide 1:1 support, mentorship, workshops, training sessions, and other capacity strengthening services in Workforce and Talent Management to one local organization in Zimbabwe. The aim of this technical support is to equip the local organization with a toolkit to enhance existing policies, develop succession plans, define clear roles within the organizational framework, and streamline human resource management activities. Responsibilities

  • Conduct a quick assessment of the organization’s workforce and talent management capacity to validate the findings from the Incubator’s initial needs assessment.
  • Review the organization’s HR systems (i.e., manuals, processes, policies, allocation of responsibilities, procedures, etc.), determine areas of improvement, and make recommendations for the organization to implement. Please note the selected consultant would not be implementing these recommendations.
  • Review organizational chart and provide guidance on defining roles within the organization.
  • Train the organization to identify new talent and retain key staff. Review the organization’s talent recruitment and retention, including appraisal policies and individual performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs), to ensure they align with organizational objectives and feed into management systems and learning. Provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide guidance and best practices on the development of succession plans.
  • The organization currently uses the Belina Payroll System. The vendor will review the functionality of this platform against organizational needs and determine the necessity of an upgrade or replacement. In case of the need for a replacement, the vendor will recommend a digital software solution to streamline operations while ensuring security for sensitive employee information. The vendor will not implement any digital software and will only issue recommendations if there is a need to upgrade.
  • Coaching and troubleshooting support, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The Consultant must be located in Zimbabwe and available to travel to Bulawayo to meet with the organization and conduct the work.
