The Consultant will provide 1:1 support, mentorship, workshops, training sessions, and other capacity strengthening services to three local organizations in Iraq.
Responsibilities
- Conduct a quick assessment on the three organizations’ workforce and talent management capacity to validate the organizations’ needs.
- Advise and assist the local organizations with best practices for workforce and talent management technical support.
- Review the organizations’ HR systems (i.e. manuals, processes, allocation of responsibilities, procedures, etc.), determine areas of improvement, and make recommendations.
- Advise and assist partner organizations during pre-award phases on resources, tutorials, and best practices for developing and documenting the policies and procedures for Workforce and Talent Management.
- Train organizations to identify new talent and retain key staff. Review the organizations’ appraisal policies and tools to ensure they feed into management systems and learning.
- Advise organizations on how to structure workforce and talent pools, especially with scaling up during emergencies and retaining top staff.
- Work with the organizations on how to incorporate HR retention and capacity building into future grant applications.
- Review succession plans and implement planning measures.
- Provide training on performance appraisal processes and goal setting, including how to create performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) that align with organizational objectives.
- Conduct a thorough assessment of the current HR system and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Coaching and troubleshooting support, as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
The Consultant will be located in Iraq, or remote with availability to travel to Duhok to meet with the organizations and conduct the work. Local consultants are highly preferred.
